Bachelor's in Theoretical Math, diverse talents in other fields. Having graduated in May 2012 with a wife and two kids, I understand the complex challenges undergraduates face. I've always had an aptitude for breaking down complex ideas and making them easy to understand. Applying these skills, I helped a friend over the past summer successfully pass her College Algebra course with a B, and discovered I have a knack for tutoring. I also have extensive experience working with younger children; besides devoting a large amount of time getting my 6 year old daughter passionate about learning and exploring, I am also a former Campfire Special Sitter, where I was trained and certified to care for children with mental and physical disabilities. I have frequently considered teaching as my future second career, and see tutoring as an opportunity to help those that need it on an individual basis. Additional experience: I have 14 years experience as a professional writer, skilled instructor and confident public speaker. I have also honed my abilities to positively motivate others, and empower them to trust in their own abilities. Beyond my Math and Science focus, I have particularly excelled in Technical & Professional Writing, World History and Comparative Ethnic Studies.

Hobbies
More than anything, I enjoy spending time with my family, and try to do so outside as much as possible. I particularly enjoy Geocaching, a hobby I'm finally able to share with my kids as they've grown. Beyond enjoying life as a husband and father, I think it's safe to say I'm a huge nerd, albeit a sociable one. I'm an avid reader, enjoy video and board games, obscure pop culture references (well, obscure for most people under the age of 30), and engaging in intellectual debates with my friends on a variety of subjects. I'm also a huge U2 fan. A couple of years ago I got to see them in Dublin, and scratched that off my bucket list. Now I'm determined to see each of their tours from here on out. You never know which one is going to be their last!
